Sagebaby was started out of a desire to
make it easier for mothers to learn
about healthier products for their babies and young
children. While many families diligently serve organic
milk and food to their children so that they are not
exposed to numerous toxins and chemicals, they
unknowingly expose their children regularly to a
variety of other toxic chemicals in their households.
Families are sold lotions full of preservatives
(remember that the skin is the body's largest organ);
toys made of harmful finishes that their babies bite
incessantly; toxic cleaning solutions; and decorate
their baby's room with new rugs, furniture and paint
that are off-gassing (the EPA has stated its
concerns that indoor air is, on average, 5 times more
polluted than outdoor air).
We at Sagebaby have searched the world to
identify the very finest, and stylish, organic
and non-toxic products. Sagebaby offers organic
cotton clothing, bedding and towels; organic
skincare; non-toxic toys; non-toxic cleaning
products and air purifiers and our web site presents
useful information as to why parents should select
these healthier alternatives to the usual suspects!
Our mission is simple: to help new and expectant
parents take the next step, beyond organic food, in
creating a healthier environment for their babies and
children.
Sagebaby has been selling healthy
products to NYC mothers since 2005 through a series
of trunk shows. Given the success of these trunk
shows and the growing number of repeat customers,
Sagebaby launched its web site in February 2006,
allowing moms everywhere access to their family
products!

| About the Founders |
 |
|
Francesca Olivieri, co-founder, comes from a
family with a long tradition of caring for the
environment, so being environmentally conscious is
nothing new to her. Her grandmother, Frances Reese,
was a leader of Scenic
Hudson, an environmental group focused on
protecting, preserving and restoring the Hudson River
and its riverfront. Francesca's passion for the
environment is a direct link to her legacy. Prior to
sagebaby, Francesca was a pioneer in interactive
learning working as an executive producer on
CD-ROM and web initiatives for IBM and Time Warner
on
such brands as Crayola, where she produced a series
of award-winning CD-ROM's. Francesca also worked
in children's book publishing at Jim Henson
Productions. Francesca lives in NYC and has 3
young children.

Susan Gluck-Pappajohn,
co-founder.
As a ballerina with the New York City Ballet for
eight years, Susan has always been very
conscientious about her health, especially about the
food she ate. However, shortly after starting a
family, Susan like many other young families,
renovated her home. The materials in the renovation
made her sick, forcing her family to move out for
many months. She has become passionate about
teaching others about healthier options that go
beyond organic food. After her dancing career,
Susan went to Harvard and then Wharton Business
School. She went on to co-found Time Warner's
Electronic Publishing Group and created and led IBM's
Multimedia Studio. She also was the executive in
charge of IBM's global licensing efforts and the VP of
Marketing Management for IBM's largest division.
Susan lives in NYC and has two young children.
