Dinnertime Lifesaver for Busy Moms

Let's Dish! offers a new way for busy moms to save the time [and stress] often associated with giving their families a healthy home cooked dinner.

Let's Dish!'s innovative meal prep process helps you avoid the dinner planning, grocery shopping, chopping and cleanup, especially during the busiest part of your day-- dinnertime! Let's Dish! does all that for you. "Our Meal Prep process saves you at least 1 hour of work time for each dinner assembled," according to owner Terese Hunersen. "Plus it offers an easy way to try meals we wouldn't ordinarily try-- we call it a 'risk free culinary adventure'."

Terese's business is a hot concept in Westchester recently covered by the NY Times (3/07), WCBS radio (4/07), and Westchester Parent Magazine (5/07) among others.

You start by visiting www.letsdish.com to pick from a selection of 16 recipes on the monthly menu that they would like to make. A variety of delicious and interesting meat, fish and vegetarian dishes are offered along with detailed nutritional information. Each entrée contains 4-6 servings at an average cost of $3.50 per serving.

There are three different ways to take advantage of the meal prep service at Let's Dish!:

1) You can choose to visit the store to assemble your own dishes. Each entrée takes 5 - 10 minutes to prep and doing it yourself means recipes can be tailored to your particular diet and taste. High quality ingredients are set out, music is playing, there's always something delicious to eat in a light, upbeat atmosphere. "We get a lot of people who see meal prep as 'productive leisure' time." says Hunersen.

2) For those without the time to do the prep themselves, Let's Dish! will assemble meals for you, a service called "Dish 'n Dash."

3) For those who are more spontaneous, Let's Dish! keeps a freezer stocked with fully assembled 'Ready Made' entrées, side dishes and desserts in the store reception area.

Most clients visit the store to stock up their freezer with a month's worth of dinners. An 8 Dish session covers 2 dinners per week for the month. Home cooking time for the typical dinner is 30 minutes or less. The menu at Let's Dish! is seasonal and, for the summer, lighter fare and many grill-able entrées.

Let's Dish! has a special offer for Essentialmom.com devotees-- a free side dish with the purchase of 4 dish package or $15 off an 8 or 12 dish package. Simply visit www.letsdish.com and enter the promotion code ESSENMOM4 for a free Mexican Vegetables side dish or ESSENMOM15 for $15 off an 8 or 12 dish session or call 914-722-6235. Offer is good through 7/31/07.

Summer Arts Camp

"Watch us grow at Summer Arts!"

Imagine! A nurturing multi-arts environment that encourages and facilitates a hands-on learning approach for children, and respects the individual nature and needs of each child. Add to this a trained staff of professional artists, musicians and dancers experienced in facilitating the natural growth and development of children.

It's here! At Summer Arts, children ages 3-12 will enjoy a unique summer experience that focuses on fun and develops every aspect of their personalities. Music, Drama, Visual Arts, Dance/Movement, and Recreation are incorporated into this very special inter-disciplinary program to develop ideas, explore themes, and create performances.

Summer Arts is a program that encourages children to exercise their imagination and freely express themselves in a supportive and enriching environment. Indoor and outdoor spaces are used to experiment, create, explore, discover, and have fun through the arts.

At Summer Arts, a balanced weekly program is designed for each age group. Class sizes are small. Emphasis is placed on exploring creativity, discovering interests, and developing new skills.

Each day is divided into four periods with a lunch break in between. A typical day may include clay art, music and make believe, dance, and recreation. Another day may include mask making, creative dramatics, creative movement, and outdoor activities. All age groups participate at the end of the 3 weeks in a short production incorporating all the arts.

Location: St. Mary's School, Katonah
Dates: June 25 to July 12, 2007
Hours: 10:00 to 2:00, Monday through Thursday
Ages: 3-12
Tuition: $850 for 3 weeks

For a fun, creative summer and more information, please call Beth Vaculik, Summer Arts Director at 845.661.7411 or email SummerArts@optonline.net.

Note: Northern Westchester Center for the Arts Early Childhood Director, Beth Vaculik has decided to continue running the camp which has had a history of excellence in the Westchester Community. No longer affiliated with NWCA due the closing, the camp is now owned and directed by Vaculik (who was the original founder and director of the camp) and offers the same outstanding arts programs for children with many of the same arts/instructors.

So, where are all the great Early Childhood and young artists' summer programs the community has always loved and trusted? At Summer Arts Camp-- the way it has been all these years!
