Chalk It Up!
The Rye Ridge Shopping Center Invites artists of all
ages and all levels of artisitic talent to transform an
asphalt parking lot into a gallery of magnificent art in
support of the Westchester Children's Museum!
This family friendly event-- in the tradition of
European 16th Century street painting-- transforms
the dull rear parking lot of Rye Ridge Shopping Center
into colorful canvases on pavement. Kids and parents
will join local amateur and practicing artists to create
temporary chalk "masterpieces" or maybe just some
colorful games of Hopscotch!
Budding Picassos and Rembrandts will also
enjoy a live performance by Little Maestros, named
one of NYC's premiere music programs by the New
York Times and NBC's Today Show, interactive
activities, face painting, complimentary food, and
more...You don't have to be a professional artist or
even know much about art, all you need is the desire
to have some fun and support the Westchester
Children's Museum!
Parents, grandparents, and children of all ages
from across Westchester and the tri-state area are

Benefit the Mt. Kisco Day
Care
Center

The Mount Kisco Day Care Center (MKDCC), is
hosting its third annual Feed Me Fresh-- An Edible
Evening fundraiser on Saturday, September 29,
2007 at 6:30 p.m., Ivanna Farm, 153 Wood Road,
Mount Kisco. An evening of fabulous food, Bluegrass,
cocktails, and farm market offerings will help support
the Center's scholarship programs, with a focus on
MKDCC's Feed Me Fresh, garden to table,
sustainable nutrition program designed to increase
the level of appreciation for healthy foods and healthy
choices for children at an early age.
Feed Me Fresh highlights MKDCC's commitment
to
community-based programming by educating
families, inspiring them to adopt healthy life styles,
while also showcasing the work of local chefs,
farmers and artisans.
Foods served throughout the evening will feature
Westchester's finest chefs using ingredients from
local and regional farms. Participants include: Kevin
Bertrand and Anibel Romero, Crabtree's Kittle House;
Leslie Lampert, Ladle of Love; Simeon Manber,
Connie's Bakery; Myong Feiner, Myong's Private Label
Gourmet; Michael Williams, The Perennial Chef;
Matthew Karp, Plates; and Raphael Palomino,
Pacifico, Sonora and Palomino. Emmy Award winning
jazz musician Isaac Raz and Blue Harvest will provide
the musical backdrop.
The MKDCC Board of Directors will honor Connie
Milstein and the staff of Connie's Bakery for their
innovative apprenticeship program which trains
individuals from the community who have faced
employment barriers helping them to find higher level
jobs within the food industry. Ms. Milstein is also being
honored for her commitment to donate 100% of the
bakery's proceeds to local and regional charities.
