  • I WANT MY MOMMY!

How many times have we all heard this refrain when trying to drop kids off at school, with babysitters for a night of freedom, or when the little ones just need a little extra attention?

It can dig into your head and heart quicker than any other four words, can make you run out the door in tears or in frustration, or bring you back into the room for one more snuggle, but mostly, it makes me want to shout..."I want my mommy too!" I still want my mom to say it'll be all right, that she loves me, and that I am doing a great job...and I hope like crazy that my children will still want that when they are my age. If I could still fit in my mom's lap, I'd curl up and move in for a month.

So, this weekend, whether you have the best mother's day or not, remember, "I want my mommy" means I love you...forever.

    Enjoy your day!

    Happy Mother's Day!

Someone actually forwarded this to me in a chain email letter, which I generally despise, but for some reason, this one wrenched my heart a bit and so I thought I'd share it with you on this, the sappiest of holidays.

"This is for the mothers who have sat up all night with sick toddlers in their arms, wiping up throw-up laced with hotdogs and cherry Kool-Aid saying, "It's okay honey, Mommy's here." Who have sat in rocking chairs for hours on end soothing crying babies who can't be comforted.

This is for all the mothers who show up at work with spit-up in their hair and milk stains on their blouses and diapers in their purse. For all the mothers who run carpools and make cookies and sew Halloween costumes. And all the mothers who DON'T.

This is for the mothers who gave birth to babies they'll never see. And the mothers who took those babies and gave them homes...

    Olive Juice event...Coming soon...!

Olive Juice came into existence in the Fall of 2003. The company started with a life-long dream to create a line of children's clothing that was classic, well constructed and appropriate for both swingsets and Saturday afternoon weddings. We are a small, family-run business. We believe small, family-run businesses deserve a place in the sun as much as the big guys. Most of all, we believe in kids and in the power of telling children "I love you", or "Olive Juice".

    Daisy Hill Farm Stand

The boys have been watching and waiting, and finally...Daisy Hill Farm Stand is opening this weekend-- thus officially beginning of the spring season.

Run by a local mom, Gwenn Brant, Daisy Hill offers great local produce from the farm, including fresh eggs, vegetables, flowers, baked goods, and much more. After a successful first season, Gwen has renovated Daisy Hill and brought in a new walk in refrigerator in order to meet the demands of her ever growing client base.

Although the produce is spectacular, our real love is being part of what was once a part of every child's day in the country...a visit to a neighbor for farm fresh foods, interesting happenings, a place to gather gossip, meet friends, and occasionally find a little duckling, dog, or chicken running about to play with.

Stop by this weekend and every weekend throughout the summer on Fridays from 9am - 6pm, Saturdays from 9am-5pm, and Sundays from 9am-3pm. Daisy Hill Farm Stand is located on Guard Hill Road between Darlington and West Patent Roads in Bedford, NY.
