CHEZ PETITE SALON : mini-spa, salon and parties for kids opens in Mamaroneck

From baby's first haircut to parties for tweens, Chez Petite Salon fills the void for Westchester kids. When you visit Chez Petite, you and your kids are transported to a desert oasis setting as if Aladdin himself was involved in the design. Beyond the vibrant colors and Moroccan-themed tent room, you'll find this place is worlds apart from other ordinary and typical salons. Sure, we have TVs and X-Box to keep your kids entertained, but where else can your daughters design their own tiaras or decorate their own flip-flops?

Order from the mini-spa menu and you won't be disappointed. From manicures, pedicures and mini-facials to instructional how-to's on nail care and hair design, our range of services is bound to make a lasting impression on Westchester parents and your kids will love their new look.

But all of this really just pales in comparison to our highly specialized parties tailored specifically for your daughters. She can have her own Coronation Ceremony with our Princess party, she can learn breathing and relaxation techniques during our Spa party and our custom-built stage doubles as both a stage for our Rock Star party and a runway for our Fashion party. And our Chez Petite Signature party is not to be missed.

What about moms? Not to worry. Just when you might have thought Chez Petite is just for kids-- think again. The women behind this exciting new salon have been in business for well over a decade with M & B Hairlooms. With an initial focus on the bridal market, M & B started out by manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing couture custom tiaras and headpieces for brides and later branched out by opening a full-service salon and boutique for Westchester women. So while your kids are receiving the royal treatment, you too can do some shopping or enjoy your own service.

Our Grand Opening celebration takes place this Friday, September 29th from 4-7pm. Bring your kids and join us for this landmark event!

Memorial Sloan Kettering Pediatric Halloween Drive

It's hard to believe that Halloween is nearly upon us. As you gear up for the sugar-induced excitement, Sloan Kettering asks you to consider helping out with a great Halloween project.

The Children's Committee at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is responsible for working with pediatric department staff to try and make life a little easier for the pediatric patients and their families. The committee organizes a number of activities and events for the children and provides services for the patients and their families to make their time at the hospital a little less stressful.

The committee hosts an annual Halloween party for the pediatric patients and their families and is holding a costume drive to round up costumes for the children at the hospital. We try to provide costumes for siblings, as parents and siblings of patients are encouraged to participate in the festivities. As you might imagine, as the parent of a sick child, shopping for Halloween costumes may be pretty far from your mind. As you pick up a costume for your children, please consider picking up an extra one or two for the children at the hospital. The patients range in size from infant to teen, so any size (infant through adult) will work. We are also delighted to have Halloween "props." These items (wigs, silly noses, makeup kits, freaky teeth, etc.) are great for kids who might be too "grown up" or ill to don a complete costume.

Because many of the children are immune-compromised and strict infection-control measures must be observed, we are only able to accept NEW costumes and props. We are trying to round up approximately 300 costumes, so every little bit helps!

All costumes must be collected by October 20th so that we can get them into the hospital and distributed to the kids in time for the Halloween festivities. Costumes can be dropped off at 100 McLain Street, Bedford Corners (look for box on porch) or at Mrs. Monogram, 629 Old Post Road, Bedford Village.
